About Us
Bluntswood Hall is perfect for civil ceremonies and wedding receptions, corporate hospitality days and special occasions including birthdays, wedding anniversary celebrations, school end of year formals, christening parties, etc. No matter what the occasion, Bluntswood Hall will be exclusively yours.
Bluntswood Hall is a family run business, owned by James and Sally Smyth, who have over 15 years experience and provide a personal, friendly and professional service.
We are able to offer two magnificent, interconnected barns:
The Oak Hall
The Oak Hall is a 17th century converted barn which, for dinner, can seat 120 downstairs, with a further 60 seated in the gallery above. The Oak Hall has its own bar and can be used for dancing in you prefer.
The Cedar Room
The Cedar Room, with it's sprung maple floor and own bar can be used for dances, conferences, team building and training days, corporate hospitality, civil weddings seating up to 160 guests, or as a reception room for up to 200 guests.
The Lawns and Gardens
The lawns and gardens are perfect for photographs and make an attractive and relaxed setting for barbecues, afternoon cream teas or a cool drink on a warm summers evening.
Location
Our splendid barns, located in the tranquil village of Throcking, Hertfordshire, are within easy reach of both the A10 and A1. This means that Bluntswood hall is perfectly situated if you are looking for a wedding venue in proximity to Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and London.

All catering is 'in-house' with the emphasis on fresh local produce and homemade desserts
